What You’ve Accomplished

You have completed a Bachelors of Laws (LBB) or a Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have at least 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate environment. You are admitted, or eligible for admission, to practice law in Ontario and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

  • Experience with the energy industry, Canadian export regulations, employment and labor law, and/or Indigenous Law are a plus

    This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Legal Counselor in Pickering, Ontario (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Legal Business Line in the Corporate Business Unit. You will primarily be supporting our IB Business Unit. Your work will include:

  • Provide legal counsel on terms and conditions for proposals, sales and procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and government regulations.

  • Provide legal and strategic advice on matters related to human resources, labor and employment laws, and export control laws.

  • Provide legal and strategic advice on Canadian joint ventures.

  • Act as Canadian export control officer for Framatome Canada

  • Maintain corporate books and records for Canadian entities.

  • Advise on changes in Canadian law and regulations.

  • Develop and deliver training programs related to company policies for North America employees

  • Provie routine and ad hoc reporting on significant legal issues and procedures
