Description

The Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a limited term Assistant Professor (Teaching) position in the area of human anatomy. The duration of the contract is December 15, 2025, through to December 31, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses, including:

Winter 2026
• KNES 260: Human Anatomy & Physiology II (anatomy content & course coordination)
• KNES 460: Laboratory Practicum: Anatomy
• KNES 503.93: Anatomy in Action

Spring 2026
• KNES 259: Human Anatomy & Physiology I (online, anatomy content & course coordination)

Summer 2026
• KNES 260: Human Anatomy & Physiology II (online, anatomy content & course coordination)

Fall 2026
• KNES 259: Human Anatomy & Physiology I (anatomy content & course coordination)
• KNES 460: Laboratory Practicum: Anatomy
• KNES 590: Honours Thesis (with support from Senior Associate Dean’s office)

Applicants must have:
• A PhD in a relevant field, such as kinesiology, anatomy, exercise science, movement science
• Evidence of successful teaching in human anatomy at the post-secondary level
• First-hand experience conducting and teaching dissection and prosection
• A track-record of using active and experiential teaching approaches in the classroom, including working with human tissue materials and anatomical models
• Familiarity with a range of teaching and learning pedagogies; engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning as related to anatomy, kinesiology, or a related field
• Experience using online teaching methods including synchronous and asynchronous teaching as well as demonstrating the ability to integrate technology into lecture and laboratory sessions
