Freight Data Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a Freight Data Analyst to manage and analyze freight data for over-the-road (OTR) transportation within Canada and the US. This role requires expertise in freight rate analysis, market trends, and pricing forecasting. The successful candidate will drive cost efficiencies, optimize service quality, and provide data-driven insights to improve logistics operations. The focus is on identifying areas of financial loss and maximizing profits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze freight data for OTR transportation within Canada and the US.

• Conduct freight rate analysis and market research.

• Forecast pricing and identify cost optimization strategies.

• Drive cost efficiencies and optimize service quality.

• Provide data-driven insights to improve logistics operations.

• Identify areas of financial loss and suggest strategies to maximize profits.

Must Haves

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, freight management, or data analysis, specializing in Canada and US OTR transportation.

• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, macros, complex formulas) for data analysis and reporting.

• Expertise in freight rate analysis, market research, and cost optimization strategies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

• Familiarity with TMS, ERP, or freight management software.

• In-depth understanding of freight rate structures and carrier performance in the US and Canada.

Work Environment

The position follows a hybrid schedule with shifts from 9am-5pm , including 3 days at the warehouse and 2 days working from home. The role involves working with three warehouses, two of which are 150,000 square feet with constant truck activity and interactions with over 30 different carriers.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 – $82000.00
