Description :Reporting to the Logistics Manager and working out of our West Fraser Canadian corporate office in Vancouver this role will be responsible for the daily coordination of modal shipments at our Canadian operations. This role will also involve working closely with our transportation partners and with our sales and operations teams to continuously improve logistics performance.What You’ll Do:

  • Support transportation requirements across multiple commodities in modal areas of responsibility at our Canadian divisions.
  • Build relationships with transportation providers.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with transportation providers.
  • Understand transportation markets and mitigate transportation risk.
  • Monitor/forecast changes to shipping patterns.
  • Understand Divisional transportation requirements and partner with Sales and Operations to ensure target inventories are maintained.
  • Monthly KPI reporting
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum 4- 5 years of transportation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related majors.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and quickly change priorities.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Power BI.

Expectations:

  • Will require approx. 10% Travel
  • French speaking
