The acquisition of the company by Metro enables Première Moisson to further expand its reach, thanks to the strength of the distribution network of this leader in the food and drugstore sectors in Quebec and Ontario.We are currently looking for a Logistics Technician for our Baie d’Urfé plant. The person we’re looking for will be responsible for supporting the Logistics Director and the Order Desk Manager in all tasks related to deli subcontract orders and special requests from major customers. His/her role also includes accounting for transportation and warehousing costs daily and by period according to established budgets and agreements.Responsibilities :Order support:
- Approves and validates invoices received.
- Ensures validity of period-end accruals for purchase orders under his/her supervision.
- Validates and records transport invoice entries in current control files.
- Corresponds with carriers regarding any billing anomalies, errors or delays.
- Ensures the integrity of rates applied in accordance with current GPM agreements.
- Validates and transmits accrued freight charges for each fiscal period end according to the current fiscal calendar to Finance and the Logistics Manager.
- Communicates and is the main contact for any changes, availability, shortages, delays, etc. for Metro warehouse customers in Montreal, Quebec and Metro Ontario.
- Enters CHEP pallets for various customers into the pallet supplier’s system.
- Enforces shipping deadlines for deli subcontractors and reports any delays in writing.
- Recommends improvements to optimize results (safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, efficiency, etc.) by adopting continuous improvement methods and raising service levels.
- Adheres to and monitors rigorously established budgets.
- Analyzes variances and provides solutions to achieve corporate results.
- Completes customs documents for USA sales (in case of emergency).
- Drafts and completes required documents for Starbucks USA customer, transportation division for weekly pickups.
Deli subcontracting:
- Entered and validated distributor customer orders for deli and tartar products in SAP, including any modifications if required.
- Enter and validate deli orders for Metro Montreal and Metro Quebec in SAP, including any modifications if required.
- Makes purchase orders from sales orders received via SAP to the various deli suppliers for subcontracted products.
- Performs administrative reception and invoice control for all orders placed and received for subcontracted deli products under his responsibility.
- Maintains supplier purchasing info sheets for deli suppliers under his/her supervision: Salamico and Prodal when required.
Other related duties:
- Fill in for the Transport Technician’s vacation when required.
- Tactfully solves problems related to her section and informs her immediate superior according to severity.
- Collaborates to maintain a harmonious work climate with members of other departments.
- Participate actively in meetings and other company activities concerning his/her section and department (including one-off projects).
- Support planning, logistics and production in compliance with food safety procedures and various certifications (SQF, Non-GMO, Organic, Kosher, etc.).
- Work closely with sales, retail, production, shipping and transportation personnel.
- Ensure the application and compliance with SQF standards for the maintenance of the food safety and security (SQF) program for subcontractors use.
Requirements :
- DEC in logistics (Experience may compensate for training.)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position in the food industry.
- Knowledge of local and international transport laws and regulations
- Knowledge of HACCP, GFSI or SQF standards
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
- Computer skills: SAP, ERP, MS Office, messaging software.
