Job description:
Are you looking for a hands-on manufacturing and production role with opportunities to operate advanced equipment and grow your skills? Our client is hiring an Operations Technician to join their growing team.
This role is ideal for candidates with manufacturing, industrial, or production experience who enjoy working with heavy machinery, maintaining high safety standards, and contributing to a fast-paced team environment.
Duties
- Responsible for operating equipment, monitoring quality, assisting with maintenance, and supporting daily plant operations.
- Package 1000 kg bulk bags of product using bulk bag loading systems.
- Report and repair inconsistencies using standard procedures.
- Monitor quality and record production data.
- Work safely in compliance with company safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
- Load customer product pick-ups and unload deliveries.
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, and front-end loader for glass transfer and waste removal.
- Work at heights using fall protection equipment.
- Operate control panels and automated systems from PLC interfaces.
- Evaluate raw materials and finished products to meet internal and customer specifications.
- Maintain written quality and production records.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections with the Operations Mechanic.
- Complete wear part maintenance and screen replacements as defined by SOPs.
- Perform other duties as directed by plant management.
Skills
- Must have a valid forklift license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavy items.
- Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ability to follow production plans and SOPs.
- Technical diploma, relevant training, or equivalent work experience.
- Welding or Red Seal mechanical training is an asset.
- Previous experience with forklifts, loaders, and scissor lifts is preferred.
- Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.
