Job Title: Maintenance Helper

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Helper to support our maintenance crew in performing various tasks essential for the upkeep and renovation of our facility. The ideal candidate will assist in completing work orders, maintaining equipment, and performing general maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders efficiently

• Reference the manual for conveyor systems and machines

• Top up and replace coolant and other liquids as needed

• Provide general maintenance support when necessary

• Assist in renovation tasks such as drywall, painting, and other handyman activities

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools

• Ability to read and interpret work orders

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs

• Experience with minor welding

• Experience in maintenance repair

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience is a plus

• Experience in a fabrication shop is desirable

Work Environment

Our facility is a custom fabrication company specializing in conveyor solutions for large customers. The environment includes design, engineering, fabrication, and assembly areas. The maintenance crew consists of about three members, and the work is highly collaborative. The industrial environment can be noisy when machines are running and may become dusty during carpentry or clean-out tasks. Steel-toed boots and safety glasses are mandatory. The position is for the day shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.66 – $25.64/hr.
