The Role

Manages and contributes to the overall success of the Collateral Operations team within the Collateral Management Utility, Global Wholesale Operations, ensuring individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities and services are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the OTC/Repo collateral operations team, ensuring appropriate measures and controls are in place to support key exposure mitigation functions.
  • Manage the collateral management team responsible for exposure management across OTC Non-Cleared, Repo, and US MBS product lines, while also providing risk management support to LATAM and European subsidiaries under an established outsourcing model.
  • Leverage deep understanding of collateral margin processes and derivative products, along with familiarity with ISDA, CSA, and GMRA documentation, to deliver value-added margining services across GBM business lines.
  • Provide margin-related updates and escalation support to GBM risk functions including GRM, Counterparty Credit Risk, and Front Office risk groups.
  • Champion a customer- and risk-focused culture across the team to strengthen client relationships and promote a risk-aware mindset.
  • Identify and evaluate automation and technology solutions to enhance productivity, cost efficiency, service delivery, scalability, and standardization.
  • Collaborate with GWRT to design and implement technology platforms and tools, and actively participate in governance structures to prioritize operational enhancements and strategic investments.
  • Ensure strategic alignment with GWO and S&C strategies, leveraging synergies to drive sustainable outcomes.
  • Pursue effective and efficient operations while maintaining strong business controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance, credit risk, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment by implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, and develops talent, fosters inclusivity, and supports succession planning and team development.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PMP are considered assets).
  • Experience in collateral operations or OTC derivatives.
  • Strong understanding of collateral management processes including margining, exposure management, and settlement across OTC derivatives, Repo, and MBS products.
  • Familiarity with ISDA, CSA, and GMRA documentation and their application in margining and risk mitigation.
  • Proven experience managing teams in a high-volume, risk-sensitive environment, ideally within a global banking or capital markets context.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros), and Access. Experience with collateral management platforms such as AcadiaSoft, Calypso, Murex, or Colline is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve operational workflows with a focus on automation, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
