MANAGER OF SUPPLY CHAIN INNOVATION

The Manager of Supply Chain Innovation at Impact Kitchen secures high-quality ingredients at optimal pricing, maintains strong supplier relationships, and ensures seamless restaurant operations through strategic inventory management and contingency planning. They drive innovation by sourcing nutrient-dense ingredients, implementing sustainable packaging solutions, and fostering partnerships with local suppliers and regenerative farms. This role also enhances supply chain efficiency by leveraging technology, staying ahead of industry trends, and ensuring all sourcing aligns with Impact Kitchen’s Food Philosophy.

The Manager of Supply Chain Innovation reports to: Director of Culinary Operations .

 

LOCATION

Hybrid – work from home & rotational in-person throughout the GTA.  Minimum of three days per week in-person.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Innovation & Sustainability

  • Collaborate with the menu development team to identify and procure the highest quality, nutrient-dense ingredients that support Impact Kitchen’s Food Philosophy.

  • Proactively research competitors and introduce superior-quality or innovative products that enhance Impact Kitchen’s offerings and market position. 

  • Prioritize local, ethical, and sustainable sourcing, fostering relationships with local farmers and suppliers.

  • Spearhead regenerative farming initiatives and build these key supplier partnerships that support Impact’s commitment to sustainability. 

  • Identify and implement innovative, eco-friendly packaging options that reduce waste and align with Impact Kitchen’s packaging commitment.

  • Work cross-functionally with Culinary and Operations teams to ensure innovation aligns with operational feasibility and guest experience.

  • Stay ahead of sustainability regulations and industry best practices, ensuring all sourcing decisions align with environmental and health standards.

  • Pilot and evaluate new suppliers, ingredients, and packaging materials, ensuring seamless integration into existing operations.

    Supply Chain

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all product suppliers, ensuring excellent service and collaboration.

  • Secure the best possible pricing while maintaining the highest product quality, balancing cost efficiency and premium sourcing.

  • Partner with Finance to negotiate favorable payment terms and strategic supplier agreements that benefit cash flow and profitability.

  • Implement contingency plans and secure backup suppliers to ensure 100% product availability across all locations.

  • Provide above & beyond service to internal teams, addressing their needs, feedback, and concerns in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all sourced ingredients align with Impact Kitchen’s Food Philosophy.

  • Continuously monitor market trends, inflation, and global supply chain dynamics to anticipate disruptions and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

  • Enhance and maintain the inventory management system (COGS-Well) to improve efficiency and data integrity, minimize waste, and ensure seamless restaurant operations.

  • Lead AvT (Actual vs. Theoretical) cost reporting, identifying gaps and work alongside operations to implement cost-saving and efficiency improvements.

  • Oversee menu engineering from a supply chain perspective, working closely with the Culinary and Operations teams to optimize our menu design and cost of goods.

    SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role

  • Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable pricing and supplier agreements

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., COGS-Well) and supply chain optimization

  • Familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices, regenerative farming, and ethical procurement

  • Knowledge of eco-friendly packaging solutions and sustainable food supply chains

  • Awareness of sustainability regulations, certifications, and industry best practices

  • Strong analytical skills for tracking AvT (Actual vs. Theoretical) and performing Menu Engineering analysis

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to implement efficiency improvements

  • Strong project management skills to drive initiatives from concept to execution

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across departments

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
