Job Title: Group Account Director
Location: Ottawa-Gatineau (Hybrid: 2-3 days/week onsite)The RoleWe’re seeking a Group Account Director who is ready to take on a senior leader role for an agency client. You’ll be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring the accounts team while overseeing a diverse portfolio. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to clients ranging from unions and coalitions to non-profits and corporations.We’re looking for someone with deep client service experience, team leadership skills, and a passion for politics, news, and public affairs.This role is based in Ottawa, with hybrid flexibility (2-3 days onsite per week).Key ResponsibilitiesClient Strategy & LeadershipLead integrated campaigns across media, advocacy, creative, and brand strategyEnsure high-quality execution across all deliverables and channels (earned, paid, digital, research)Represent the agency during pitches, bringing credibility, insight, and sharp thinking to the tableMaintain discretion and trust with high-stakes, high-profile clientsTeam Management & GrowthBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing remote account team across Canada with a clear focus on outcomes and ownershipUse dashboards to track account health, project value, and team performanceDrive a culture of accountability and excellence, while keeping the work fun and sustainableSupport the evolution of the team as our client expands in other regions across CanadaBusiness DevelopmentSupport strategic growth by identifying opportunities with existing clients and contributing expertise during pitchesHelp instil a more structured, proactive approach to outbound prospectingCollaborate with business development leads to pursue growthIdeal Candidate Profile8+ years of experience in an agency, consultancy, or client-facing strategic communications environmentStrong background in brand, media, and integrated campaign strategyComfortable working with policy-adjacent or advocacy-oriented clientsExperience managing teams (including remote staff) and driving performance through clear structures and coachingBusiness-savvy with an understanding of account margins, utilization, and growth metricsAdept at balancing competing timelines and priorities with calm and confidenceHighly discreet, client-centric, and proactivePersonally invested in current events, government, or Canadian politicsTo ApplySend us your resume along with a short note outlining:Why this role excites youYour experience managing account teams and leading strategy
