Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Manufacturing Tool Design and working closely with S&C’s Business Unit, the Manufacturing Technician (12-month contract) is responsible for supporting production processes to ensure that deadlines are met and production lines are running smoothly.

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Duties & Responsibilities

Providing support to production areas, including, but not limited:

  • CNC programming of fabrication equipment (Laser/punch/form-brakes).
  • Tooling and fixture design, welding fixtures, machine shop fixturing.
  • Engineering change orders and routings.
  • Troubleshooting machines.
  • Problem-solving and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing, or a similar field.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience with tool design, CAD, and CNC programming.
  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing, machining, and welding is a strong asset.
  • Familiar with fabrication and assembly equipment and processes.
  • A good eye for detail with excellent analytical, problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience being resourceful and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships.

Physical Effort: Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20 lbs.
