We continuously explore and examine opportunities for collaborations with other Dene and First Nations organizations and with non-Indigenous organizations in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.What you will doReporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Marketing and Communications Assistant provides administrative support to various teams and programs within the Det’on Cho Group of Companies. Editing and writing company materials will be an essential part of your job.A Day in the LifeYour job duties include:
- Help implement communication strategies.
- Provide administrative support to programs supporting both internal and external communications.
- Assist with drafting and editing communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts)
- Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies.
- Update databases and media lists.
- Track projects and media exposure.
- Facilitate effective internal communications.
- Maintain calendars and appointments.
- Prepare presentations and reports.
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems is a plus.
- Solid editing and research skills
- Excellent communication abilities (oral and written)
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be accepted.
- Familiarity with Yellowknives Dene language, culture and way of life would be considered assets.
