The incumbent will be responsible to facilitate the day-to-day vault operations and transactions for the BMO Precious Metals Vault in Toronto, Ontario. Working closely with the BMO Sr. Metals Vault Operator, they will deal in the physical and non-physical movements within the vault operations. Further, the incumbent will be responsible for assistance to ad hoc projects determined necessary by the BMO Metals Vault Supervisor.

General Description:

• Operate in the functional areas of receiving, shipping, secure storage / distribution of precious metals, and logistics.
• Interface with other business units to effectively implement strategies and work towards business objectives
• Responsible for completing physical movements and staging of incoming and outgoing product
• Work within company policies and operating procedures
• Ensure compliance with BMO health and safety policies, and government regulations
• Conducting regular audits and maintaining the integrity of controls
• Adhere to security, policies and procedures to support the ongoing security
• standards of the business as well as supporting changes to operating procedures
• Comply and assist in all Security related investigations
• Provide inventory control management and perform daily vault balancing routines
• Adhere to the PM storage vault standard operating procedures including end of day balancing processes and reconciliation
• Work with all levels of Management to complete the given directives of the Company

Skills & Experience:

• High analytical skills for reporting, balancing, and reconciliation
• General knowledge in precious metals industry, including, but not limited to, LBMA, COMEX guidelines, global refineries, metal types, forms, and assays
• High analytical skills for divisional support within the operation
• Familiar in precious metals verification and weighing techniques
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
• Previous banking experience-an asset
• Understanding of business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements
• Ability to be organized in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous and conflicting requests with a focus on detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated customer service excellence
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Data and results driven decision making
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• General knowledge of health and safety guidelines
• Quality orientation

Must Haves:

• Physically able to lift up to 50lbs
• Previous logistic experience desired
• Knowledge of standard desktop applications (i.e. Excel, etc.) and department systems and applications

Salary:

$45,500.00 – $84,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
