Actalent is seeking an NPI Test Developer for a 6 month contract in Ottawa, ON!Job DescriptionOur New Product Introduction team is seeking a dynamic NPI Test Developer to join our team responsible for delivering automated calibration and verification solutions for our optical portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a highly technical, data-driven problem solver, capable of debugging both hardware and software-related issues. They will be required to concisely and clearly describe their work to various teams such as designers, product engineers, contract manufacturers, and operators.Responsibilities

• Support the R&D team with test tools during prototype development
• Develop tests for platforms created by the R&D team
• Interact with contract manufacturers to deploy products on a large scale
• Develop and write automation tests to support new and existing production lines
• Develop for scale and increase test volumes
• Analyze production statistics to improve test time and yields as production scales
• Support failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective action implementation for components, sub-systems, and field failures

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in hardware and software testing
• 2+ years of test automation software development experience in C#, MATLAB, or Python
• Experience with test development, test automation, and hardware testing
• Prior experience testing optical products

Additional Assets:

• Experience using optical test equipment
• Good understanding of statistics in a production environment (CPk analysis, paretos)
• Experience using optical and radio frequency (RF) test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and attenuators
• Experience in offshore production and debug management
• Experience using source control tools such as git
• Experience using the Atlassian suite of tools (Bitbucket/Sourcetree/Jira/Confluence)
• Team player with effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
• Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and willing to learn
• Assertive with the ability to drive contract manufacturer engineers/technicians
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English required
• Fluency in oral and written French is highly desirable
