At North York General, our team is making a world of difference.Position SummaryNutrition Technician, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Your goal in this position is to safely and accurately prepare and deliver the feeds for preterm and/or term infants in the NICU, using a controlled environment that limits the potential for cross contamination of fortifiers, powdered formulas and mixing equipment. In this role, you will be working independently preparing feeds and will effectively communicate with NICU team members, specifically nursing staff and the dietitian, to ensure an integrated patient and family centred care approach. In addition, you will prioritize and prepare accurate feeding orders, effectively handle unexpected changes in a patient’s feeding requirement and will deliver the prepared feeds to the refrigerator while adhering to aseptic procedures and avoiding waste. You have demonstrated leadership, problem solving and conflict resolution skills and can effectively time manage and prioritize your workload independently. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.On a practical level, you will
