Location: Ottawa, Ontario CanadaOn-SiteTerm: 6-month TermHTG is seeking an experienced Cloud Automation and Infrastructure Specialist with deep expertise in managing OpenStack and multi-cloud environments. This role is critical in building, automating, and optimizing infrastructure and cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private OpenStack clouds.Your responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on OpenStack, maintaining performance, availability, and scalability across private, public, and hybrid environments.
- Lead automation efforts for deployment, scaling, and infrastructure configuration using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and OpenStack Heat. Ensure that infrastructure is automated, efficient, and aligned with business goals.
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity, ensuring seamless deployment and integration within hybrid cloud environments.
- Containerize applications and microservices using Docker and Kubernetes, focusing on deployment and orchestration across environments including AKS/EKS/GKE and OpenStack Magnum.
- Develop monitoring and alerting frameworks for cloud and on-premises infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic. Proactively address performance bottlenecks and ensure consistent, reliable infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes.
- Mentor team members and provide training on OpenStack and multi-cloud best practices to enhance cross-functional knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Management, or related roles.
Technical Proficiency:
- Cloud Platforms: Advanced knowledge of OpenStack, as well as AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and OpenStack Heat templates
- CI/CD Tools: Expertise in Jenkins, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, or similar tools for building and optimizing pipelines
- Containerization and Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including orchestration on OpenStack Magnum, AKS, EKS, and GKE
- Scripting and Development: Strong scripting skills in Groovy, Python, Golang, or Bash for automation tasks
- Monitoring and Logging: Skilled in using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, New Relic, or equivalent for infrastructure and application monitoring
- Security Practices: Knowledge of SAST, DAST, and IAST tools with practical experience securing OpenStack and hybrid cloud environments
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git, including branching, tagging, and integration within CI/CD workflows
