Job Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position includes working with the teaching team in the reparation and delivery of all aspects of lab for Chem 2201 in the Fall 2025 term. This may include preparation of course materials, marking of student pre-lab and post-lab reports, answering student inquiries, running lab sessions, running tutorials, and other tasks as assigned by senior members of the teaching team. In addition, this position may be assigned tasks relevant to preparation of materials for Chem 2201 and chemical solutions. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry.
Qualifications/Requirements of PositionThe position requires a minimum of an MSc degree (PhD preferred) or two years of graduate studies in Chemistry, with a specialization in analytical chemistry. Experience providing teaching support for classroom or laboratory teaching at the university level is required. Experience at providing teaching support for an undergraduate analytical chemistry class is preferred, and experience as a teaching assistant in the 2nd or 3rd year analytical chemistry lab is an asset. The preferred applicant must have proven experience in working independently (as well as with a group) and meeting workplace objectives and deadlines.The application package should be submitted via PeopleAdmin and should consist of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, summary of relevant teaching experience, and names/contact information of two referees, by the posting deadline.
