Kaplan International English Teachers are responsible for all aspects of classroom management within their designated classes, as well as adherence to the Kaplan curriculum, helping international students achieve their academic goals through English language instruction and preparation for standardized tests. We are looking for charismatic, talented teachers who can provide students with an outstanding educational experience.Key Job ResponsibilitiesTeach classes using Kaplan curriculum, across multiple levels, as assignedPrepare lesson plans according to established syllabusMaintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, including maintaining classroom facilitiesMaintain accurate record keeping for daily attendance and student performanceComplete all paperwork within required deadlinesAttend staff meetings and in-house workshops; participate in ongoing teacher training programsBecome familiar with and adhere to company policies and proceduresTutor students as assigned and if availableWork with academic supervisor to improve delivery of Kaplan academic Accept and incorporate feedback on classroom performance to ensure positive and meaningful student experienceEffectively communicate with school administrative staff regarding planned and unplanned absences; provide clear instructions and materials for substitutesMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s DegreeApproved TESOL CertificateHave experience teaching online via ZoomSuperior skills in creating a dynamic, interactive classroom experienceMust be authorized to work in CanadaTESL CertificationPreferred Qualifications3+ years of experience teaching ESL in a group settingExperience with industry, international students, and/ or overseas teaching experienceOne or more foreign language abilityLocation Vancouver, BC, CANEmployee Type EmployeeJob Functional Area TeachersKaplan lnternational is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
