State-of-the-art facilities enhance learning giving students a solid foundation for placement experience.Job DetailsPosition Title: Part-time Professor, BScN, Practical NursingStatus: Part-time teaching contract (multiple positions), Winter 2025 semester (1-6 hours per week)Hours: Daytime, evenings and/or weekends may be required, based on course schedules and specific teaching assignment.Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and PSW ProgramsCampus/Location: North campus and/or Lakeshore campus, in-personSalary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employeesWhat you will do:The incumbent will be responsible for teaching courses within the Personal Support Worker and/or Practical Nursing and Bachelor of Science – Nursing programs.The incumbent will teach and develop course materials and assessments related to course learning outcomes, create an effective and innovative learning environment for students and will contribute actively to the overall program. Teaching takes place at the North campus (BScN, PN & PSW) or Lakeshore campus (PSW only).QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education· A Graduate Degree in Nursing achieved or in progress.Experience· Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.· A minimum of 5 years of nursing practice experience.· Experience teaching in post-secondary education.· Preference will be given to candidates with the additional relevant qualifications including specialization in gerontology nursing.In addition, the successful candidate will have engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture.
