Context and Scope:

Reporting into the Ontario Performance Director, the role of the Provincial Performance Manager, Ontario Private Retail will drive business performance in the Ontario grocery, big box and convenience channels, in addition to managing Non Alc Beer performance across Canada!

Purpose of Role:

• Leads the development and execution of category and customer strategies in the Ontario private retail channel (grocery, big box, convenience) for RTD and Beer products, delivering sustainable financial and share growth

• Leads the development and execution of category and customer strategies for Non Alc Beer across Canada, delivering key performance metrics and annual plan

• Leads execution within the channel through each broker to achieve both annual objectives and quarterly Key Performance Indicas at head office and outlet level

• Responsible for the development and execution of the trade spend and A&P budgets in accordance with annual plan

• Builds and maintains strong relationships across both internal and external key partners, especially customer marketing, revenue growth team, and supply team with Diageo, and the account manager and trade development team within the Brokers

• Responsible for developing trade marketing plans and programming calendars that support the achievement of national and regional objectives. This involves advanced planning and alignment with internal partners 6-9 months in advance to support the local brokers in advance of customer selling windows.

• Assists in customization, communication and delivery of marketing programs and point of sale materials to the broker to ensure timely sell-in and execution of programs

• Takes an active role in monthly inventory management and forecast process to improve forecast accuracy.

• Leads the forecast agenda with inventory teams to ensure inventory flow and availability

Key Outputs and Results:

• Responsible for building and implementing promotional strategies and program calendars with all banners.

• Monitor business performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and course correct to ensure delivery of goals

• Outpace the Beer & Ready-to-Drink (RTD) industry in retail value share growth

• Develop the joint business plan demonstrating Diageo’s internal teams in collaboration with all banners

• Leverage category management, customer marketing, marketing, finance and supply chain to bring breakthrough ideas to the channel and our customers

• Build strong internal alignment and leverage all available resources to deliver against our aspiration and commitments with all banners

• Maintain high levels of team engagement and a culture that encompasses Diageo Values

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• An experienced business leader with a proven track record of delivering results over time

• Strong commercial capabilities and experience working with sophisticated retail customers building deep,

trusting relationships

• Experience leading teams both directly and indirectly in service of delivering aligned growth strategy and plans

• Highly skilled in complex negotiations and conflict resolution

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Strong financial capability (can understand a complex P&L in depth) and understanding of market share levers

• Must have excellent analytical, influencing, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and experience in a retail sales environment is a distinct advantage
