Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist demonstrates flexibility and innovation in supporting patients of Dalhousie Family Medicine. They provide guidance and support for clients, including providing information about appropriate supports and programs that will meet health and wellness needs and social supports that can assist with daily living. They lead support for a group based exercise program, as well as other physical activity programs offerings within Dalhousie Family Medicine. The individual is responsible for exercise program development, implementation and evaluation and must possess excellent exercise leadership skills.The Physiotherapist develops and fosters a healthy interdisciplinary team process that develop a person and family centered continuum of care focusing on the health goals of the clients, ensures services and practices are evidence based, strong focus on program planning and evaluation, collaborates with colleagues to determine clients treatment plans and objectives, solves problems and shares responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university required
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists required
- Must be eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
- Minimum one year experience in each of the following: working with people with chronic disease in an exercise program or setting; Individual and group education/facilitation utilizing adult education, self-management supports, and motivational enhancement principles
- Understanding of population health, health promotion strategies, and behaviour change principles
- In-depth knowledge of local health authority and community-based services.
- Demonstrates person-centered/family-focused, diversity focused approaches to care
- Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and willingness to change
- Demonstrates innovation in program planning, implementation and evaluation, and quality improvement, planning skills
- Computer skills (MS Office, e-mail and internet)
- Annual BLS AED certification and annual WHMIS training and certification
- Travel to other sites is required. Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

- This role will require the successful candidate to work from both the Mumford Professional Centre and Spryfield Community Centre, as required
