Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Health Services Manager or Health Services Lead, Primary Health Care, the physiotherapist will utilize their full scope of practice for patient assessment and diagnosis in primary care setting family all ages, patient self-management support, behavior change methods, case management and client centered approaches in individual or group settings. The incumbent is team focused and will collaborate with Primary Health Care staff, family physicians, nurse practitioners, family practice nurses, social workers, kinesiologist and other health care providers and community groups. The Physiotherapist provides guidance and support for patients, including providing information about appropriate supports and programs that will meet health and wellness needs and social supports that can assist with daily living. The individual is responsible for the development and delivery of a physiotherapy patient care plan, exercise program development, implementation and evaluation and must possess excellent leadership skills. The incumbent is a member of a highly collaborative inter-disciplinary team and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university
• Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
• Must be eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
• Experience providing group exercise prescriptions or other community programming recommended.
• Experience working as a member of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
• ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Exercise Specialist Certification or CSEP an asset
• Preferred experience in partnership development, stakeholder collaboration, and community development
• Understanding of population health, health promotion strategies, and behavior change principles
• In-depth knowledge of local district health authority and community based services.
• Well developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and willingness to change
• Demonstrates innovation in program planning, implementation and evaluation, and quality improvement, planning skills
• Computer skills (MS Office, e-mail and internet)
• Annual CPR-AED certification and annual WHMIS training and certification
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
• Competencies in French language (written and spoken) an asset
