The Allied Health Services (AHS) team, under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapy, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants. Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.The team has a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team. Each discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures and lead corporate level initiatives.RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil. We are currently seeking a temporary part time Physiotherapist (0.6FTE) until approximately October 15, 2026, to support our high intensity inpatient rehabilitation team.Working with an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will support high intensity rehab for persons with stroke (following stroke best practice guidelines, intensity and treatments) and other non-stroke diagnoses.As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapy school or university with a clinical Masters in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) – Mandatory
• Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario -mandatory
• Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association – preferred
• NDT/Bobath certifications – preferred
• FIM certification – preferred (this can be obtained organizationally)
• Evidence of continuing education in Stroke and Rehabilitation.

Experience:

• Recent experience with a varied clinical practice in high intensity rehabilitation settings.
• A strong theoretical and practical knowledge of neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory skills and treatment techniques.
• Sounds knowledge of community services, supports, and equipment vendors.
• Knowledge of referral process to follow-up services such as rehabilitation, community physiotherapy, rehabilitation day program, home and community care, complex-continuing care, or repatriation to discharge destination.

• Ability to function co-operatively as part of an interprofessional treatment team, with the patient at the center of care.
• Possess comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, flexibility and initiative
• Ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
• Superior organizational and time management skills are essential to management of the caseload.

Other:

• Ability to learn about, from, and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care.
• Demonstrate an ability to appreciate the importance of, and be open to, new concepts and trends in the academic and clinical areas of health care knowledge
