Job Title: Planters Peanut MascotPosition Overview: Planters is looking for an energetic individual to embody the iconic Mr. Peanut! As the Planters Peanut Mascot, you will bring Mr. Peanut to life, creating memorable experiences for audiences at retail grand openings and the upcoming Santa Clause Parade. You’ll engage with fans of all ages, spreading joy, brand awareness, and love for Planters’ products.Date / Location:

  • Toronto – February 22nd from 11AM – 6PM

Job Type: Independent Contractor/ TempKey Responsibilities:

  • Performance: Bring Mr. Peanut’s personality to life through animated body language, gestures, and interactions with the public.
  • Audience Engagement: Charm audiences by posing for photos, shaking hands, high-fiving, and interacting with fans while maintaining Mr. Peanut’s friendly, charismatic persona.
  • Event Participation: Attend a variety of events, including parades, and store openings.
  • Brand Representation: Serve as an ambassador for Planters, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor that aligns with the brand’s values and image.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with event staff, photographers, and marketing team members to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Costume Maintenance: Maintain the Mr. Peanut costume and ensure it is clean, in good condition, and represents the brand effectively.

Requirements:

  • Performance Skills: Prior experience in acting, dancing, or as a mascot is preferred.
  • Physical Endurance: Must be able to perform in costume for extended periods and manage the physical demands of a mascot role, including walking, standing, and moderate lifting.
  • Outgoing Personality: Must enjoy interacting with people of all ages and possess an engaging, fun-loving attitude.
  • Adaptability: Able to handle various event settings, from small local events to large crowds at national gatherings.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willing to travel as needed, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Non-Verbal Communication Skills: Ability to communicate expressively without speaking, using only body language to convey Mr. Peanut’s personality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Mascot Roles: Previous experience in mascot performance is a plus.
  • Performance Training: Background in performing arts, theater, or improv is advantageous.
  • Public Speaking Skills: Although most communication will be non-verbal, occasional public announcements may be required.
  • Build: Recommend height will be 5’7 and up to fit in the Mascot costume.
