This Part-Time Health Care Aide Instructor will instruct from Northwestern Polytechnic’s Fairview Campus. Located in the heart of Alberta’s Peace Country, Fairview Campus delivers state-of-the-art career programs & specialty training. Regulated nurses in Alberta include registered nurses (RN), registered psychiatric nurses (RPN), nurse practitioners (NP), and licensed practical nurses (LPN). Applicants must have a minimum of at least one year full-time equivalent (1,500 worked hours) clinical nursing or nursing education experience in Canada within the three years immediately preceding this appointment. Additional experience beyond the one year minimum will be viewed favourably.Successful candidates will be professionals with a positive attitude towards education; have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with students; be able to work independently and work collaboratively with colleagues; and demonstrate the ability to be self-directed and motivated. You will be able to give guidance and direction to others, creatively find solutions to challenges, and be aware of goals and vision of nursing education. Working knowledge with computers, word processing programs and Outlook would be an asset.Previous experience in teaching or supervision of students and experience with student centered learning approaches is desired. Knowledge of adult education may be demonstrated through prior completion of one of the following:
