Job Description

Reporting to the Sr Director, Engineering, the Product Manager will lead the development, execution, and commercial success of our Production Irradiator product and service line. This role integrates engineering, automation, and industrial operations, with a particular emphasis on conveyor systems and process automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automation and manufacturing, experience collaborating with engineering teams, and the ability to drive strategic business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for product differentiation.

Engage directly with customers through feedback sessions, sales collaborations, and strategic account planning to ensure the product roadmap aligns with market demands.

Develop and manage product roadmaps, aligning technological advancements with market needs and process optimization.

Oversee product lifecycle management with a focus on engineering, automation, and industrial applications and related services

Lead the design, integration, and maintenance of automation and conveyor systems within the Production Irradiator portfolio.

Collaborate with Engineering and Commercial Operations to optimize supply chain efficiency, operational readiness, and product strategy.

Influence key business decisions related to industrial automation, control systems, and process improvements.

Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure smooth product execution and delivery.

Implement go-to-market strategies that align with customer requirements, industry trends, and business growth objectives.

Provide technical expertise in customer discussions, sales proposals, and strategic positioning of the product line.

Collaborate with marketing to refine product messaging, positioning, and promotional initiatives.

Define pricing strategies in partnership with Commercial Operations, ensuring competitive and profitable market positioning.

Act as a bridge between technical and commercial teams, translating complex engineering features into clear customer benefits and business value.

Identify opportunities for product differentiation to enhance market competitiveness and sales performance.

Represent the company at industry conferences and events, staying informed on emerging automation trends, irradiation technologies, and market opportunities.

Take an active role with Commercial Operations in promoting PI products and services during customer engagements, at industry events and with other stakeholders

Travel up to 20% globally to engage with engineering teams, vendors, customers, and operational stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies:

Expertise in industrial automation, control systems, and conveyor technologies.

Strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes.

Business and financial acumen, including experience with pricing models, margin analysis, and revenue forecasting.

Ability to translate technical specifications into compelling value propositions for customers and sales teams.

Strong market research and competitive analysis skills to optimize product positioning.

Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and commercial teams.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.

Ability to influence decisions without direct authority and drive technical and business outcomes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in technical and customer-facing discussions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field (Master’s or MBA preferred but not required).

5-8 years of experience in automation, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or product management.

Hands-on experience with industrial automation, control systems, and conveyor technologies.

Familiarity with irradiation technology and process optimization is a strong asset.

Experience in sales support, customer engagement, or market strategy is beneficial.

Proficiency in relevant engineering and automation software tools.

Experience in a Product Management or similar role, specifically with New Product Introduction principles and practices
