Background :

• Ideally FI working within payments projects ( int’l experience is welcome )

• Reporting to the AVP, International Payments & Digital Commerce, the successful candidate is responsible for the oversight, product ownership and delivery of payment capabilities in Canada, including Client Global Transfer ( product focus ) , Mobile Wallets, eCommerce, and others.
• The successful candidate will have the ability to act like an owner and oversee the onboarding of business lines to platforms, introduction of net new enhancements, and drive to target state by realizing channel consistency and alignment across Enterprise Payments.
• The ability to “get things done” despite headwinds and the management of multiple projects simultaneously, is critical to role success. This role will have significant exposure to executive stakeholders and excellent communication skills are a must have.
• The primary responsibilities of the Product Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

o Partner with management to support the delivery of a product vision
o In alignment with the product vision, create and maintain a product backlog and continuously re-prioritize user stories that will provide the most customer or end user value
o Review performance analytics; recommend and champion strategies to enhance the customer or end user product experience
o Proactively engage established business process partners to ensure customers or end users are prepared for application changes and establish Day 2 processes
o Manage delivery initiatives and oversee development team (pod) backlogs
o Consider development team and stakeholder feedback in backlog management, facilitating conversations with multiple stakeholders representing competing priorities
o Understand the internal business and technical environment, proactively defining, aligning, or integrating with relevant stakeholders, shared services control groups (or platform as appropriate
o Monitor the regulatory environment, emerging issues, trends, and partner with the senior management to consider changes to product strategy as needed
o Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
o Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
o Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally
o Key subject matter expert professional role requiring substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas
o Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify solutions
o Communicate difficult concepts; converts information to compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders
o Work autonomously as the lead and guide others within area of expertise
o Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
o Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively (both speaking and writing), provide direction and build relationships across teams and functionsMust have:

• Undergraduate degree or product management certificate, and / or
• Seven (7) or more years relevant experience
• Three (3) or more years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience
• Previous product experience typically required
• Thorough understanding of Canadian money movement capabilities and eco-system, and thought leadership required to understand the ever-changing online money movement and payments landscape.
• Advanced knowledge of and ability to conduct product research, product analysis and development, forecasting, pricing, competitive intelligence
• Knowledge of competitor and market trends
• Skill in preparing and managing budgets
• Skill in using analytical software tools, MS Office, data analysis methods and reporting techniques

Nice to have :

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
