Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Program Manager Acquired Brain Injury, the Professional Practice Coordinator supports discipline-specific practice and student/learner placements across programs and services, and facilitates optimal scopes of practice in an integrated interprofessional practice model within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care portfolio. As a member of a team of coordinators, the Professional Practice Coordinator works with members of the individual disciplines, operational leadership, staff, practice councils, and educational institutions to foster person-centered care and collaborative interprofessional relationships. The Professional Practice Coordinator facilitates learning that builds capacity, supports and advances professional practice and maintains and develops evidence-based standards of care. The Professional Practice Coordinator acts as a resource to operational leadership and staff related to the application of relevant legislation, professional credentialing, standards of practice and issues relate to professional practice and accountability.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Completed Doctorate degree in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical, health or neuropsychology from an approved Canadian Psychological Association program, or a program eligible for accreditation by CPA, or a graduate from a Clinical/Applied Psychology Program prior to the program’s accreditation.
  • Registration as a psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology including formal written and oral examinations following two years of board approved experience.
  • Membership with the Canadian Psychological Association and Member of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia.
  • 5 years clinical experience in a healthcare setting in the designated profession with leadership activities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice as it relates to acquired brain injury rehabilitation
  • Demonstrates success in effective consultation with others
  • Strong problem solving, clinical reasoning and sound judgement skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation
  • Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with patients, colleagues, management and community agencies
  • Completion of training in advanced non-violent crisis intervention, and suicide/violent risk assessment required or willingness to complete same
  • Willingness to work within a collaborative inter-professional context
  • Willingness and ability to travel potentially within a variety of settings within Central Zone
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work purposes and to inform insurer of same
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
