Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the School of Nursing, Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Practical Nursing Program. These programs offer students a comprehensive set of practical and critical skills, as well as knowledge in specific to the roles, responsibilities and competencies of PSW’s and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN’S) according to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Sheridan seeks part-time professors to teach in a variety of theory-based courses and/or simulation/lab learning experiences offered within the School of Nursing program.To view the courses offered within the School of Nursing program, visit:To view course outlines, visit:Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online according to evidence and theory-based teaching and learning principles and in accordance with Sheridan Policies and Procedures;
  • Engaging students in meaningful and student-centered academic experiences, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;
  • Defining, evaluating, and validating learning outcomes and designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning;
  • Developing individualized instruction and multi-media presentations and incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable;
  • Attending periodic faculty meetings.

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or equivalent;
  • Masters in Nursing considered an asset;
  • Current membership as an RPN or RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario with no restrictions to practice;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related professional experience;
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following: Working with Vulnerable Populations, Women’s Health, Older Adults, Mental Health and Wellness, Acute Care, Clinical Simulation;
  • Experience with Virtual Learning portals and resources, Microsoft Office, and a variety of Learning Management Systems preferred;
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience preferred;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment.
