Program Management Officer

The IDRC’s Democratic and Inclusive Governance Program funds research and innovation so that people around the world can enjoy the benefits that democracy and inclusive governance bring to everyday life. We support evidence-based research that helps people and public authorities address the causes and drivers of weak governance in a manner that promotes empowerment, gender equality and inclusion of excluded groups. This position will support the implementation of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Learning Partnership, an externally funded program with Global Affairs Canada. The initiative will support a learning and impact agenda to enhance the efforts of the program to improve human rights and gender equality across regions.

You are interested in: 

  • Administering and monitoring program budgets and timelines.
  • Providing administrative support for project development, grant administration and reporting requirements.
  • Liaising with key internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and supporting conferences, workshops and meetings.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the implementation and impacts of projects.
  • Preparing reports and presentations on program process and impact.
  • Promoting knowledge sharing, communications and engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Taking initiative and bringing continuous innovations to your work.
  • Joining an organization that values and models diversity, inclusion, and equity.

You have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to international development such as, gender and women’s studies, political science, human rights, international affairs, international law, political economy and/or sociology or a related field.
  • Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Relevant and recent experience supporting program and project management related to women’s rights, gender equality, social justice or strengthening social movements. Experience working with women’s rights, gender equality, and feminist movements in the Global South is considered an asset.
  • An enhanced knowledge of the principles and best practices of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). Familiarity with feminist, participatory MEL approaches is considered a strong asset.
  • The ability to use IT tools (proficiency in Microsoft office suite) and social media experience. Good use of graphics tools would be an asset.
