Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director, MScAC Administration, this position oversees the day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of the MScAC program and maintains partnerships with the program’s partner departments, which currently include the Department of Statistical Sciences, the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Physics, the Department of Cell & Systems Biology and the Faculties of Engineering and Medicine.

Note: this is a term position to June 2026. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs
  • Developing components of programs and initiatives that advance program objectives
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities
  • Coordinating admission processes with departmental/divisional contacts
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications, as well as conducting admissions interviews of potential candidates
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual’s background

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of recent and relevant experience in a senior program administration position, which has included developing, planning, and managing educational programs. Planning that has included recruitment and/or admissions is preferable.
  • Experience overseeing program development and operations, and developing and implementing improvements to operational policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in complex student advising and supporting a large cohort of students through an academic program.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders including prospective students, funding/government agencies and partner firms.
  • Experience managing and planning program resources including the management of financial accounts.
  • Experience interpreting academic policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience screening candidates to academic programs to determine and confirm program eligibility and fit.
  • Experience analyzing recruitment and admission related statistics for domestic and international markets for program planning, preferably for a Professional Masters Program in Computer Science.
  • Experience in developing, organizing and representing academic programs at domestic and international post-graduate student-focused events, such as program information sessions and international recruitment fairs.
  • Experience in conducting research and analyzing data identifying potential markets, and developing strategies to maximize student recruitment opportunities.
  • Experience supervising staff, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant student and academic university policies.
  • Strong skills in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of the University’s SAP based Administrative Management Systems and related applications, including ROSI, Slate, and ACORN.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent judgement, strategic thinking and decision making abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to relate to all levels of faculty, staff and students in a manner which facilitates cooperation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Knowledge of the MScAC program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment trends and competitors in the Computer Science professional program field.
  • Experience preparing marketing materials for distribution in a global market, preferably for a professional Masters program in Computer Science

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:

USW Pay Band 14 — $90,056. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $115,169. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
