Closing Date: January 17, 2025Position SummaryThe Project Manager works closely with the chair and manager of the REB and other stakeholders to support the development and implementation of institution-level strategic projects. The analysts helps with documentation of existing and future states, tracking and analysis for planning and execution of the projects. They will build relationships and strong communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and development of both risk and change management plans.The research ethics board is strives to ensure that all research involving human participants conducted within the jurisdiction of University Health Network (UHN) meets the required standards of ethical and research conduct. As such, the REB is an integral partner in the research enterprise – to facilitate the progress of, ethical research help advances in the care and wellbeing of our society. This requires the collective contribution of all stakeholders: scientists, trainees, support staff, research and operations leadership and external organizations. To facilitate advances in knowledge, innovation and treatments, UHN has embarked on a bold initiative to improve efficiencies of the approval of research projects through the development of a Strategic Research Project team. This is a multi-disciplinary, high performing project team that will support and manage the development and execution of strategic and high priority research initiatives. This call relates to the position of a project analyst to work with the REB as part of the strategic research project team.Duties
- Analyze business needs, problems, opportunities, and solution scope
- Evaluate and validate solution value and benefits to the organization, supporting business case development and return on investment analysis
- Facilitate workshops with multidisciplinary groups to identify, validate, and document clinical, business and process requirements
- Conduct workflow review and process redesign, and support continuous improvement processes
- Coordinate system design, build and testing
- Apply rigorous project management techniques to assist in the management and documentation of project plans, schedules, status reports, and budgets
- Apply sound change management techniques for effective stakeholder engagement and communications, training, and implementation support
- Develop adequate level of knowledge of the subject matter and systems being implemented to effectively move projects forward
- Planning and monitoring project progress through tracking project milestones, risks and issues to deliver project within the planned budget, schedule, and with a high level of quality.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or related field required
- Experience working with and/or conducting human research studies
- Sound knowledge of project management standards an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification an asset
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience in applying change management methodologies and tools
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and get things done
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies an asset
