Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously?We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to lead a team of professionals in the design and construction of a small to large-scale commercial Energy projects out of the Calgary or Edmonton office. As a Project Manager, you will act as the key client interface point and be responsible to ensure the work is completed on time, on budget, and in accordance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements. You will direct and support the Project Team to ensure that all technical requirements of the project are understood and achieved.Your Key ResponsibilitiesOverall leadership of the project team and coordination of all stakeholders.Primary point of contact with the ClientEstablish and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationshipsDevelopment of the Project Execution & Quality PlanInteract with Client and Project Team daily to proactively address issues and overcome challengesManaging the approved scope, budget and schedule are of utmost importanceA strong understanding of earned value progressing methods to gauge project health, identify, and report early warning signs to leadershipFacilitate key meetings for the project (both external and internal)Identify, mitigate, communicate, and document project risks in the risk registerEnsure project controls are in place for cost and scheduleMonitoring and control of project performance against budget, schedule, quality and safety requirementsParticipate in schedule and milestone development and tracking.Day-to-day project oversight and communication with key project stakeholders.Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the projectAccountable for monitoring project performancePreparation of project progress and cost reports.Responsible for Change Management (identification of scope changes, preparing, reporting and managing change orders).Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments.Review and approve all invoices and change orders associated with the project.Ensure corporate policies and procedures are being adhered to.Review and approval of project drawings (PFD/P&ID drawings, designs, line/tie-in/equipment lists, etc.) prior to issue for accuracy, completeness and presentationLead and prepare proposalsContinuous networking with the industry to identify and bring in opportunitiesThis position reports directly to the Project Delivery ManagerQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent client relationship and communication skillsProven experience building, leading, and managing high performing project teamsExcellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skillsStrong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to a variety of audiencesAbility to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovationAbility to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple jobs/projects, and be able to carry out multiple tasks and scalability within each projectGenuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team and with other discipline staffAble to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAdvanced skills in use of Microsoft (MS) Office SuiteStrong attention to detail with proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlinesFocused on continuous improvementWillingness to travel to site on occasionEducation and ExperienceEngineering degree or diploma and 15 years of relevant industry experience.Project Management Certification (PMP) is an assetMinimum 8 years industry experience on Major Projects in a leadership roleExperience in Project Management in an EPCM environment leading multi-disciplinary teams through design, construction, commissioning and closeoutExperience supporting oil, gas and energy projects through to constructionProject experience within energy transition; including bio-industrial, carbon capture, and hydrogen project experience is considered an assetTypical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home).This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s’ talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
