Exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Project Manager, Concrete & Formwork to join our client’s team in Edmonton! In this high-impact role, you’ll lead every stage of their self-performed concrete projects, from the initial vision to the finish line.What you will be doing:Supporting business development activities by maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, the design community, engineers, and other organizations which enhance future self performed concrete opportunitiesWorking with the Estimating and Project Development teams to secure self performed concrete workOverseeing the preconstruction phase and providing leadership to project teams, ensuring execution on the construction and turnover of self performed concrete workDevelop and/or promote and advance the latest industry technologies, systems, processes, and innovations to ensure our client maintains its position as an industry leader in constructionBuild diverse, high performing teams, through coaching, training and development opportunities and creating opportunities for new and challenging experiencesLeading and working with project teams to:develop project specific safety and quality plansset profit and productivity goalsevaluate and select formwork systemscomplete the material, subcontractor, and equipment procurementassemble the appropriate field crew and field supervision teamworks with senior operations leaders to hold project teams accountable for meeting the minimum productivity, profit, safety, quality, and schedule goalsPromote, live, and instill our client’s Core Values: Can-Do Attitude, Respect Others, Succeed as a Team, Lead with Courage, Deliver Results)Success will be measured on:Client satisfactionFinancial performanceSafety performanceQuality performanceCreating positive and engaging development opportunities, mentoring and assisting staff in the advancement of their careersSuccessfully leading operational improvement initiatives related to self performed concreteDevelop standards and maintain records for all self performed concrete: start-up and closeout documentation, productivity data collection, information sharingPerformance management of staff and direct reports; set personal and team goals/strategies in alignment with annual Key Result Areas (KRA’s)Liaison with Self-Perform Concrete peer group across North America monthlyWhat you must have:Proven ability to manage complex, multi-story, institutional and commercial self-perform concrete projects with a variety of formwork systemsProven leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivatingDemonstrated ability to manage key relationships, including clients, business partners, government agencies, and subtradesAbility to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal and external challenges or obstaclesSound understanding of risk management related to self performed concrete workKnowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and proceduresEffective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracyHigh level of integrity, confidentially, and accountabilitySound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skillsA well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skillsOutstanding listening and communication skills are essentialQuestions conventional approaches, explores alternatives and provides innovative solutionsA post-secondary degree or diploma in construction or engineering.Minimum of 15 years in construction with at least 10 years managing progressively larger and more complex self performed concrete projects.Estimating experience in self performed concreteOn site Project Coordination, or Project Management experiencePrevious experience working on a remote or logistical challenging projectExperience with Last Planner® System an assetExperience with Procore® Construction Management Software an assetAbility to travel on a regular basis throughout Alberta, BC and NWTSalary/Rate Range: $150,000 – $195,000Other Information:
