The Operational Readiness Lead is a project manager with an intermediate level of experience in the range of 5 to 10 years’ project management experience, including experience with complex enterprise-scale programs in both the public and private sectors. The PM will work with closely with the Business Implementation Office team on the project as well as business stakeholder groups to coordinate all aspects of operational readiness.The PM’s role is to work closely with the Operational Readiness Manager to execute an operational readiness tactical plan, including engagement plans, communications and readiness measurement and reporting. In addition, the responsibilities of the Consultant include:
- Providing the PMO Pillar Lead with:
o Regular status reports
o Risk and issue details to be managed and mitigated.
o Adhering to CSDS Division policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other project teams to resolve issues and provide project management support as assigned by the Operational Readiness Manager.

In support of this project, the overall responsibilities of the Operational Readiness Lead are as follows:
- Assist with the planning and coordination of cutover and operational readiness with primary focus on business preparedness.
- Support various stakeholder groups to identify operational readiness priorities, coordinate resolution of related issues and support operational readiness planning (such groups may include Functional Change Network, Change Leadership Network and Business Advisory Council).
- Coordinate closely with the Business Implementation Office and other project teams on operational readiness topics.
- Prepare required operational readiness deliverables under the guidance of the Operational Readiness Manager (e.g., readiness work plan, status reports, risk and issue reporting).
- Identify, monitor and manage project issues and risks related to operational readiness and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure deliverables are produced, approved, and accepted in accordance with organizational standards.
Qualifications
The PM will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a project manager role on complex projects/programs including the following: contributing to project strategies, program planning, and critical path management.
- Experience with cutover and operational readiness activities.
- Experience with stakeholder management and high-level competency in relationship management.
- Excellent facilitation and coordination skills. The Consultant must be comfortable working in a liaison role.
- Understanding of how business operational management priorities interact with project commitments, demonstrated by experience supporting/liaising with business leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
The PM ideally should fulfill the following desirable qualifications:
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Organization change management experience is an asset.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP solutions is an asset.
- Prior experience with the Province of Nova Scotia would be valuable.
- Experience in managing projects/programs with a public sector organization is an asset.
