Our private ownership provides long-term business planning and strategic decision horizons supported by a strong financial position.Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an Industrial Project Manager, based out of Toronto, ON, to join our Industrial team to lead the delivery of complex industrial plant projects across Canada and internationally. Based in Toronto, this role is ideal for a senior professional with 15-20 years of experience in the EPCM or engineering consulting industry, particularly in mining, heavy industrial, and battery manufacturing, energy storage, and electrification sectors.You will lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and project professionals through all phases of project execution-from concept and feasibility through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client handover. You will be accountable for technical, financial, and contractual performance, ensuring compliance with corporate and client standards.in this full time permanent role and be a champion ofKey Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and direct multi-disciplinary teams in the execution of lump sum and EPC/EPCM industrial plant projects.
  • Manage engineering and discipline project design activities across concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility, EPCM, and EPC phases.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination with Lead Discipline Engineers and third parties to ensure responsible engineering decisions and outcomes.
  • Define and control engineering work scope based on contract documents and project requirements.
  • Oversee all project phases including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Prioritize safety, sustainability, and well-being in all project activities.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and maintain man-loading plans.
  • Support resourcing and budget management across all project functions.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost control reports, and performance metrics.
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and change management processes.
  • Develop and maintain HSE and Quality procedures tailored to each project.
  • Represent Bantrel in meetings with owners, clients, and stakeholders; lead presentations and resolve issues.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to project-related matters.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared across project phases.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Negotiate with customers and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Lead and support business development efforts, including:
  • Identifying and pursuing new project opportunities in industrial, battery, and energy transition sectors.
  • Leading proposal development, including project scoping, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Collaborating with discipline leads and subject matter experts to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Participating in client presentations, interviews, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and organizational success.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience managing industrial plant projects and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle in EPC/EPCM environments.
  • Knowledge of process equipment fabrication, construction, and site erection.
  • Experience with battery manufacturing facilities, energy storage systems, or electrification infrastructure is a strong asset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project execution, project management, and project control methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret project cost and financial reports.
  • Broad skill set including leadership, team building, critical thinking, negotiation, and execution.
  • Degree in Engineering with a minimum 10+ years of experience in a consulting environment focused on mining, heavy industrial, or battery-related projects.
  • At least 5 years of direct project management experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional designation such as EIT or P.Eng. is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a desire for career advancement.
  • Ability to interact confidently with clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
