Role: Project Manager/Leader – Intermediate
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 8-10 Months with possible extensionProject Manager/Leader – Intermediate Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, government agencies, and community representatives.
Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating concerns as necessary.
Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular status reports for management and stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as relevant public sector regulations and guidelines.
Support the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other procurement-related documents.
Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
PMP Certification is required.
3-5 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant portion of that experience gained within a Transit Agency.
Demonstrable experience managing projects within the Public Sector is essential.
Proven understanding and experience with Bus Operations, including but not limited to, fleet management, scheduling, maintenance, and operational efficiencies.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:
Experience with specific transit technologies.
Knowledge of provincial/federal procurement processes.
Change Management certification (e.g., PROSCI).
Must Haves:
