Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This position reports toManufacturing unit managerYour role and responsibilitiesAccountable for the local management of all project execution activities, will provide leadership, direction, oversight and guidance to managing Project Managers in the Process Automation Energy Industries- Excitation BL. Projects are executed in Canada and USA and vary in size and complexity. In this role, the candidate will ensure operations are carried out in accordance with company procedures, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contract specifications, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. Coordinates and oversees team development and standardized process development to continually improve the effectiveness of Project Execution teams. Works alongside Supply Chain and Engineering to guarantee the highest quality of project delivery. In addition, the candidate will be an involved, hands-on Project Manager for some projects. Roles & Responsibilities: • Leadership & Team Management: Provide strategic direction, mentoring, and performance management to the PMO team. Build and sustain high-performing teams through coaching, development plans, and competency assessments. • Project Execution & Compliance: Oversee the full lifecycle of project execution, ensuring alignment with ABB policies, contractual obligations, HSE standards, and quality requirements. • Portfolio & Financial Oversight: Conduct quarterly project reviews, monitor portfolio health, ensure budget adherence, track financials including invoicing and cash flow, and intervene on troubled projects when necessary. • Process Improvement & Best Practices: Implement continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned, applying industry best practices, simplifying workflows, and sharing insights across teams. • Risk, Contract & Claims Management: Effectively manage project risks and opportunities. Ensure effective contract execution, claims resolution, and proper project close-out in accordance with ABB standards. • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers. Collaborate with internal stakeholders like Sales, Proposals, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure coordinated project delivery. • Resource & Workload Optimization: Manage resource allocation, ensure workload balance, and structure teams effectively based on competencies and project needs. • Supplier & Performance Evaluation: Provide feedback on supplier performance (HSE, quality, delivery, pricing), and support sourcing improvements with internal partners. • Governance, Ethics & Compliance: Promote ABB’s core values, uphold ethical standards, and ensure compliance with global and local policies, tools, and HR practices.Qualifications for the role
