This position provides leadership in the organization or functional area and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project. The position requires the application of knowledge gained from experience and expertise to the job duties and responsibilities. The position will make decisions in areas that may impact the organization and its employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, or compliance programs.

The Project Systems & Data Lead acts as the Project Manager of automation technology for the project, managing the information technology, automation and information/data management requirements for the project team. The Project Systems & Data Lead is charged with maximizing the efficiency of the project team and achieving the project goals through the best application of automation technology tools and methods. Working with the department manager, this role may coordinate and manage automation activities on a project. This role may manage or supervise others.

• Provide applicable information obtained from other projects regarding the successful implementation of new technology; work with the project team to optimize the use of computer-integrated engineering tools during project execution

• Establish the Project Data Management Plan including, Web sites, data repositories, file server directory structures, access rights, security requirements, backup requirements, database replication, database interfaces, mass storage requirements, and connectivity requirements

• Define, support, and enforce standards and work practices to enable multi-office/company project execution (work-sharing activities) and Electronic Data Interchange

• Ensure that the Project Computer Aided Design (CAD) Execution Plan, including standard project procedures, is completed

• Develop the Project Systems & Data scope of work, deliverables, and schedule for implementation in cooperation with the project management, client and contractor teams

• Develop and manage the project automation budgetary requirements to support the scope and schedule requirements

• Identify the level of electronic communication (connectivity) and support functions to be provided at the construction site and make recommendations to project management

• Ensure that any pre-qualification activities for engineering and construction contractors on their 3D CAD and technology capabilities are completed. Integrate the technology needs of the project with the capabilities of the contractors, vendors, and client; propose/provide methods for connectivity and consulting to implement technology, if required

• Understand the work-process and data-integration issues among at least two (2) or more of the project disciplines

• Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback

• Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations

• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action

• Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job

• May need to travel to attend to business related matters

• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
