The Risk Services Specialist is tasked with promoting and delivering advanced risk management techniques. They serve as partners, offering a comprehensive range of advisory, consulting, training, and educational programs to both internal and external customers.

Focusing on the Healthcare Education and Social Services sectors, the Risk Services Specialists are dedicated to understanding loss exposures and trends. They meticulously identify hazards and implement risk controls through site assessments and customer interviews. Operating independently in the field and collaborating with Underwriting and Brokers, they develop best practices and are recognized as Subject Matter Experts.

If you are great at:

  • Conducting comprehensive in-person risk assessments across diverse portfolios including healthcare, education, and social services sectors – from small businesses to complex mid-market clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client and internal stakeholder relationships
  • Implementing and recommending loss prevention strategies to enhance client safety.
  • Assisting in the creation of loss management strategies and tools, such as self-assessment instruments.

You have:

  • Post-secondary education in Insurance Management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of long-term care, group home and school risks an asset
  • Progressing towards or having completed CIP or CRM designations.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in risk services or loss control.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire/building codes is an asset.
  • Level 1 Infrared Thermography certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, outdoors, and potentially climb ladders.
