Position – Public Relations Officer
The Marketing Department (TMD) in London, ON is seeking an experienced Public Relations Officer to join our team.Job Responsibilities and Duties include:
The position will include coordination and execution of the public relations strategy for TMD and its clients’ brands. This role will lead the coordination of PR planning, activities, and strategies to develop brand awareness and provide an engaging experience for our customers and followers. Duties will also include:

  • Building and coordinating PR strategies, set goals, and evaluate results.
  • Cultivating media relationships and arranging interview opportunities.
  • Providing media training and guidelines for client interactions.
  • Managing media requests and opportunities for clients.
  • Developing story angles and pitching client thought leadership articles.
  • Maintaining media lists and managing follow-up with reporters.
  • Reviewing media pitches and overseeing PR team performance.
  • Generating reports on PR performance metrics and insights.
  • Overseeing third-party PR partners and ensuring synergy between online and offline messaging.
  • Assessing situations to determine the importance, urgency, risks and solutions
  • Setting priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities
  • Prepare summary reports that include brand voice, growth and engagement

Job Skills Required:

  • Post-Secondary Education in marketing, PR, communications, social media or business administration
  • 5+ years of successful Digital Marketing experience, managing PR accounts for multiple brands, using social media & platforms such as LinkedIn Marketing, reviewing/editing content for accuracy, and presenting to an external audience.
  • Experience within the insurance sector, preferably Insurtech
  • Journalism experience would be an asset
  • Being able to handle multiple projects at once and pivoting between brands
  • Strong background in analytics to create insightful and actionable recommendations to improve strategies.
  • Position is full time, consisting of approximately forty (40) hours per week, at an hourly rate of $33.46 per hour.
