PAL Technical Services is a leader in international aerospace and defense design, development and operation of airborne surveillance aircraft, heavy maintenance checks and software applications. We provide a wide range of aviation and related services to domestic and international markets.PAL Technical Services is seeking qualified applications for the position of Purchaser at our St. John’s, NL base.The Purchaser will research, evaluate and purchase products in the most effective and efficient manner possible for use within the Aerospace industry.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchase merchandise, materials, components, equipment
• Obtain information from suppliers concerning product and/or service specifications, price, and delivery dates
• Ensure all applicable data is current
• Obtain quotes, conduct bids, evaluate costs, and negotiate optimum delivery schedules
• Ensure a suitable combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions
• Support long term agreements in place
• Resolve problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving and payment to the supplier; determine source of the problem and takes appropriate corrective action
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in purchasing merchandise, materials, components, and/or equipment
• Experience ordering parts, inventory, and warehouse work
• The ability to control, measure and regulate efficient stores inventory levels based on operational requirements balanced with financial consideration
• Handle day-to-day logistics associated with receiving, storage and shipments, including meeting regulations with customs and controlled goods
• Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel are essential
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented individual that can meet regular deadlines and can manage time efficiently
• Experience in customs and controlled goods
• Exceptional organization skills
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
