Regional Sales Manager in Mobile Location Alberta [F001], Canada

What you’ll do

Reporting to the AVP of Marks Commercial, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) role is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Sales Team within their geographic region. The RSM develops, coordinates and integrates the activities of the Corporate Sales Managers (CSMs), Key Account Managers, BD Managers and Inside Sales Specialists to increase sales and profitability for Marks Commercial.

  • Leadership, Direction and Coaching to the entire regional sales team

  • Work with the sales team to implement new customer acquisition strategies including the use of social networking and other internal and external strategies

  • Establishing relationships with large clients and perform strategic assessments of clients’ needs

  • Establishing the annual sales targets and budgets that are used to complete quarterly reviews

  • Oversee day to day operations of Sales Team including coaching, development / training, mentoring and ensuring the team understands and lives by Mark’s Core Values and Marks Commercial Mission.

  • Attending sales calls with their teams

  • Enables Regional team to meet or exceed the quarterly and yearly budget sales, gross margin and expense targets

  • Provides guidance and direction for sales teams within respective region and ensures the team members are functional to increase sales/profitability

  • Knowledge and learning exchange of success/failures

  • Works with other Marks Commercial Leaders in resolving any issues in terms of internal workflows, customer issues, productivity gains, etc

  • Monitors sales results and leads meetings with teams to review results, increase sales and business development, builds teams

  • Monthly, quarterly and annually meeting with the sales team to review their progress relative to their Accountabilities & Competencies and initiate action if required

  • Quarterly completion of the performance efficiency appraisals of each team member as well as annually reviewing the performance ratings of the entire sales team

  • Establishing Regional budgets, managing and monitoring Expenses and conducting profitability analysis

  • Develop and maintain the 1, 3 and 5 year business plan for the Region, reviews with AVP and rolls out plans to sales teams

  • Within the business community oversee existing accounts, maintain and grow network, attend/presence at trade shows and acquire new business lines

  • Make any adjustments to the short and long term components of the strategic plan as required due to changing business climate

  • Display Leadership in productive relationships and ensure the team maintains good working relationships with internal resources, customers and vendors

  • Manage and coach the interaction to all levels inside and outside the organization

What you bring

  • University Degree in Business or equivalent with an emphasis in Marketing/Sales Management

  • Min. 5+ years related experience managing sales teams

  • Proven track record in sales

  • Direct supervision and coaching experience in a sales environment

  • Strategic analysis and decision making skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Ability to build and deliver sales presentations

  • Travel (50%) required within region; RSMs attend quarterly and year-end regional sales meetings and national sales meetings across Canada.
