You will be expected to produce impactful stories for our digital, radio, and television platforms.Key responsibilities:Pitch original story ideas, conduct research, write, and produce reports for digital, radio, and television programming that will engage and inform audiences, strengthen community relationships, and reflect a diversity of perspectives.Regularly produce exclusive and enterprise-driven content.Distill large volumes of complex information while working under tight deadlines.Build and maintain relationships with a wide network of sources and contacts.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and present news content, plan coverage, and coordinate long-term reporting efforts.Your profile:University degree in journalism or a related field, with at least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a multiplatform newsroomStrong knowledge of Southern Ontario and provincial issuesExcellent general knowledge and awareness of current eventsUnderstanding of the broadcasting sectorAbility to identify, pitch, and execute solid and original story ideasStrong editorial judgment and well-developed analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to plan, organize, and coordinate daily tasks while meeting tight deadlines; able to perform well under pressureSkill in clearly communicating complex information to the public across all platformsCommitment to embodying and promoting values of diversity and inclusion in a respectful workplace cultureExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative team spiritInitiative and resourcefulnessAbility to work collaboratively and remotelyBilingualism (French and English) is requiredValid driver’s license and a driving record that meets CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance requirementsWillingness to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekendsFamiliarity with Radio-Canada production software (web, radio, television) is an assetPlease include in your cover letter any additional documents or links to your portfolio, website, video, or audio samples.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the nextstep will be asked to complete a background check.
