The McGill FMER Group is seeking a trustworthy and highly motivated Research Assistant to support the current and future research projects in family medicine education scholarship included in the group research agenda. This role involves assisting, when necessary, ALL the researchers of the group with the preparation of research proposals, data collection and analysis, and development of research reports and other publications. The ideal candidate would hold academic training in health professions education, family medicine education in particular, demonstrate strong organizational skills, intellectual honesty, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in the very dynamic academic environment offered by the FMER.Main Duties & Responsibilities:Literature Review and Knowledge Synthesis – Identify, analyze, and summarize relevant academic publications to support the research project at stake.Fieldwork and Data Analysis – Assist in gathering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and maintain accurate project records in a safe and ethical way.Publication Preparation – Contribute to the writing of scholarly articles, conference presentations, and grant proposals.Collaboration: Participate in the FMER Working Sessions and other group academic activities, and work closely with all the FMER researchers and affiliated graduate studentsAdministrative Support: If necessary, help coordinate the group research activities, including scheduling, correspondence, documentation, and ethics paperwork.Education/Experience:Minimum requirement: MSc in Family Medicine, Health Professions Education, or equivalentExperience in family medicine education research will be highly appreciatedOther Qualifying Skills & Abilities:Research proficiency: Holds knowledge and experience in conducting literature reviews, and a solid understanding of scientific research methodsTechnical Competence: Demonstrates familiarity with quantitative and qualitative data analysis software and digital tools for managing references.Written Communication: Possesses strong writing skills for developing sound academic reports.Problem-Solving ability: Is proactive in identifying issues and suggestions solutions in a sound and respectful way.Collaborative Mindset: Works easily in a team-based environment.Ethical awareness and behavior: Understands research ethics and behaves ethically.Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.Hourly Salary: $33.05Hours per Week: 8 (Part time)Location: 5858 Cote des NeigesSupervisor: ProfessorPosition Start Date: 2025-08-13Position End Date: 2026-07-12Deadline to Apply: 2025-08-12This position is covered by the Association of McGill University Research Employees (AMURE) collective agreement.McGill University hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community.
