We have 14 divisions that work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural and ethnically diverse collegial environment.Position SummaryThe candidate will work under the supervision of the principal investigators on various studies. The candidate must be able to do qualitative data coding for content/thematic analysis using NVivo software.The candidate will conduct chart reviews to gather study data and manage updates and new data entry into an electronic database. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills to assist with a wide range of clinical research activities.Duties

• Reviews and adheres to research protocols
• Organizes hardcopy and computer files related to ongoing studies
• Records, accesses, transfers and reviews data from electronic medical records to electronic databases
• Provides administrative support for grant applications, presentations, publications, reports and other program-based initiatives
• With the assistance of PI and other research personnel, edits and updates ethics applications for the Health Research Ethics Board pertaining to submissions, amendments
• Conduct qualitative coding under the guidance of other research personnel including intercoder reliability, codebook quality checks, and content analysis.
• Discuss research participation with patients and family members at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic and get informed consent for “consent to contact” for research studies in the future.
• Record “consent to contact” where appropriate in Connect Care and/or provide clinic staff with consent to contact information for consenting patients and family members for incorporation into Connect Care where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-secondary education of a Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in data management
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, timelines and a flexible work schedule
• Ability to work efficiently and in a professional and ethical manner
• Ability to work independently as well as with others on a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with retrieving patient information from patient charts
• Current ConnectCare training (Completed EUPA or SEUPA)
• Intermediate level competency with MS Office (Word and Excel), NVivo
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to sensitively discuss research participation with patients and family members in the clinic following ethical guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively alongside clinical staff to engage in research participation discussions with patients and family members without impacting clinical care.
