The Research Associate will be working under the direct supervision of Professor Steven Bernstein to support the development of a UTM initiative on Non-Violence, including exploring opportunities for collaboration with political science and other departments. Organize a workshop on non-violence at UTM that brings together experts at UTM and that may include opportunities for engagement with local stakeholders interested in supporting this initiative. Engage in research on non-violence.Education:

  • PhD in Political Science

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of research experience in Political Science, with demonstrated research in Non-Violence.
  • Experience providing project management support and ensuring projects adhere to ethical and privacy requirements.
  • Experience supervising a team, including effective teambuilding skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships and foster collaboration to achieve common goals.

Skills:

  • Superior communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative group.
  • Ability to lead a project and co-ordinate research teams.
  • Experience in training and monitoring performance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making and management skills.

Other:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in Non-Violence
