The Autism Research Centre is led by Dr. Lonnie Zwaigenbaum, Professor, and Director of the Autism Research Centre in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.PositionWorking within the Autism Research Centre, the successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager and will provide coordination and project management of multiple research studies. The Research Coordinator will complete ethics and other regulatory applications, review, and conduct study activities specific to research protocols, recruit and consent research participants, and provide indirect supervision to a research assistant, and manage data entry. The Research Coordinator will administer and score standardized and research questionnaires, interviews, and assessments for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Research Coordinator will liaise with research partners, regulatory authorities, clinical staff, and other sites as well as facilitate communication between team members, coordinate the day-to-day operations of studies, manage overall milestones and study targets to ensure timely recruitment and completion of studies. The incumbent will also conduct literature searches and reviews in support of the PI and projects.Duties
- Conducts study procedures within the required timelines outlined in study protocols
- Prepares consent forms, ethics submissions, renewals, amendments and close-out reports
- Administering and scoring standardized questionnaires and interviews for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
- Observing and recording behavior data to include in reports
- Provide support for formatting and editing of grant applications, data management, data collection, data analysis, results dissemination, recording/organization of video footage, video coding, and maintenance of research centre materials and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree (preference to an undergraduate degree in Psychology) from an approved university training program.
- Two years of experience in research assessment with pediatric populations and experience in working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Effective problem-solving skills including analytical thinking.
- Experience working with challenging clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of research-related experience, including knowledge of research design, data collection, data management, and data analysis.
- Recruitment and marketing experience including social media platforms.
- Experience with SPSS or other relevant statistical programs, RedCap, and RefWorks for literature reviews,
- Experience with Canadian Common CVs.
- Knowledge and experience with the University of Alberta’s REMO system.
