We have more doctorally prepared faculty members than any other school in the West. As a pioneer in Canadian nursing education, we implemented the first Master of Nursing program in Western Canada in 1975, and began the first fully-funded Nursing PhD program in Canada in 1991.Position SummaryThe Research Coordinator supports the Associate Dean Research and the Faculty of Nursing research portfolio, including supporting and liaising with other research staff across Assistant Professor research teams and working closely with the Faculty’s Research Partner (RP) to complement their capacity.The Faculty of Nursing has a high percentage of Assistant Professors (42%), many of whom joined the faculty in the last 3 years. A key part of the RC role is to support Assistant Professors in establishing their research programs. The Research Coordinator contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of research support within the Nursing Research Office (NRO). The Research Coordinator will be the secondary point of contact for research questions from faculty members, and must have excellent communication and independent decision-making skills, and a strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. In cooperation with the Research Partner and the Research Administrative Services team, the Research Coordinator will train faculty members and their coordinators on how to prepare and monitor grant budgets, and how to complete research administrative tasks. Advice may be provided on how to obtain ethics and operational approvals, recruitment, data collection, and the orientation and professional development of research team members.Duties
