Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Researcher.About the team:The Smart Grid Technology Lab’s research focuses on Power electronics, Energy Management Systems and other Smart Grid Technologies, applying the latest technology to the digital power industry. The lab has become a research organization with many significant industry achievements.About the job:Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and formulate AI for power system requirements.Investigation of the state-of-the-art AI application scenario and identify the technical trends of related technology.Responsible for advanced optimization and AI algorithms implementation for power grids.Support in technology roadmap development for next-generation AI key features.About the ideal candidate:Hold a PhD or a Master’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or other related background.Background in power system operation and optimization.Proven experience in algorithms for sequential decision-making problems or data-efficient machine learning algorithms.Familiar with Python or C/C++.Background in AI/machine learning, statistics, and data science.Familiarity with power electronics, fault detection, and diagnosis is an asset.
